All Day Mindfulness & QiGong Silent Practice Retreat

This secular guided silent practice session will allow you to explore some of the meditations and practices from the eight week mindfulness meditation courses I teach and to explore Qigong practices. With extracts from both the Eight Week Mindfulness-Based Programme and the Mindfulness-Based Living Course (MBLC) this practice session is suitable for consolidators of mindfulness meditation or for those who are curious about mindfulness and Qigong and would like to practice in a group before committing to an eight week course. The session will contain seated meditations, gentle movement taken from Qigong and mindful movements practices and you will be invited to lie on the floor for the body scan if that’s possible for you. If you have any concerns about your ability to participate in the session please contact the organiser or discuss with your GP.

When: Sunday 12 May 2019 10.30am-3pm.

Where: Parsonage Lane Community Hall, Bishops Stortford, Herts.

What do I need to bring? A yoga mat and lunch.

Cost: £27 Advanced Online Booking (£23 Earlybird) per person. £30 drop-in fee. Half day possible (morning only) £15.

Structure of the day: Arrival and introductions before going into silence. We will stay in silence for about 4 hours during which time we will do a range of practices and have lunch in silence. Participants are welcome to leave the building during lunch but are asked to continue to observe the silence if they do so. After lunch we will continue to practice in silence until around 2.30pm when participants will be invited to reflect about their experiences of the day. We will slowly come out of silence – sharing in pairs or threes our experiences before coming back together as a group. Once we have shared our experiences, we will have one last sit together as a group. Please note sharing with the group is optional. Tea will be provided. Please note this is a one off practice session and no materials will be given out. However most of the meditations we will do are available free to download from this website to enable you to continue practicing after the session.
