Mindfulness for Young People

In 2013 I successfully completed the teach .b course in London, run by the Mindfulness in Schools Project. This involved more than 30 hours supervised skills and teaching development in delivering eight week mindfulness courses to young people. I can also deliver .breathe course aimed at 8-14 year olds at times of transition.

What is .b? .b (pronounced dot b) is an eight week course in mindfulness meditation aimed at those in education. It has been taught in schools, colleges, sports clubs and other diverse communities all over the world. It is aimed at 11-18 year olds.

What is .breathe? .breathe (pronounced dot breathe) is a four session course in mindfulness  aimed at those experiencing times of transition.  It is aimed at 8-14 year olds.

What does .b cost? The .b course costs start from £1,200 for a ten week course and .breathe costs from £500 for a four week course. These prices are based on the course being delivered in full over an ten/four week period, during school hours with weekly 30-60 minute classes. For longer time slots, after school sessions or to book a block of concurrent courses please get in contact as the fees can be adjusted to fit the requirements of the school.

What equipment does a .b teacher need to deliver the course?  Ideally to teach the .b course there needs to be a good sized classroom that has an interactive white board, computer and projector to facilitate the use of powerpoint.  In a couple of the sessions, when more space is needed, access to a school hall or larger room would be useful. Access to a colour photocopier before each class is essential to ensure students have access to colour handouts.
